Fourm and Function

December 26, 2006

  • Fact: Mister Rogers had a black adopted brother, George. George became a flight instructor for the famous black squadron The Tuskegee Airmen and taught Roger how to fly a plane.
  • Opinion: I am getting increasingly bored and frustrated with my job at the library. Perhaps five years is enough?
  • Song: In honor of the late James Brown a.k.a. Soul Brother #1, I recommend “Funky President” by none other than the Godfather himself. Or, if you’re in a disrespectful mood, try “James Brown is Dead” by L.A. Style, an early 90s pump-up techno song which begins with the announcement that “James Brown is dead”.
  • Link: Like comics? Like guns? Then you’ll love this link. No, it’s not Sin City, silly. The NRA is apparently releasing a promotional graphic novel encouraging Americans to purchase weapons to protect themselves against Michael Moore, Latinos, the Liberal Media, and um, a tsunami. As in the wave.
